Transcription: The lion is the king of beasts and inhabits the savannah and semi-deserts of Africa. With its sandy coloured coat, it blends perfectly into the landscape. Lions live and hunt in prides consisting of several males, females and their young. The strongest male, with his stately mane covering his head, shoulders and chest, has a dominant place in the pride. The lionesses are responsible for catching prey and rearing the young. They give birth to between two and five cubs every two years and rear them lovingly.
